Tire Repair Guidelines

RMA-Approved Tire Repair Guidelines

For your safety and optimal tire performance, it's essential to adhere to Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) recommended tire repair procedures.

Key Requirements for a Proper Repair:

  1. Thorough inspection: The tire must be demounted from the wheel for a complete internal and external examination. Hidden damage may be present on the tire's interior.
  2. Puncture size: The puncture must be 1/4 inch (6 mm) or smaller and located within the tread's repairable zone. This ensures the repair's durability and the tire's long-term performance.
  3. Patch and plug: An internal patch is applied, and the puncture hole is filled with a suitable plug/stem filler. This effectively seals the tire, preventing air leaks and protecting the internal structure from external elements.

By following these guidelines, you can help maintain your tires' safety and longevity.
